ZZ Top's Afterburner is a landmark 1985 album that captures the Texas trio at the height of their synth-infused rock dominance. This vinyl pressing delivers the album's signature sound—a bold fusion of blues-rock grit and 1980s production polish that defined a generation.
The tracklist spans ten essential cuts, from the cheeky groove of "Sleeping Bag" and the infectious energy of "Can't Stop Rockin'" to deep cuts like "Planet Of Women" and the slow-burn seduction of "Dipping Low (In The Lap Of Luxury)." Standout moments include the laid-back bounce of "Stages," the swagger of "Rough Boy," and the provocative title track "Velcro Fly."
Afterburner remains a cornerstone of 1980s rock—a record that proved ZZ Top could evolve without losing their blues roots. Essential for collectors of stadium rock, synth-rock
crossover, and classic ZZ Top.
